Generate JSON-LD structured data without writing code
Structured data tells search engines exactly what a page is about: an article and its author, a product with its price and stock, a business with its address and opening hours, an event with its date and venue. Google, Bing and AI assistants read it to build rich results and answers. This generator turns a short form into valid JSON-LD, the format Google recommends.
How to use it
- Pick the type that matches the main content of the page. Use Article or BlogPosting for editorial content, Product for a product page, LocalBusiness for a shop or office with an address, and so on.
- Fill in the fields. Required fields are marked, and the checklist shows what is still missing or not in the right format, such as a relative URL where a full address is needed.
- Copy the code, paste it into the page, then test the live URL in the Rich Results Test.
Tips for markup that works
- Mark up what is visible. Every value in the JSON-LD should also appear on the page. Hidden prices, invented reviews or FAQ answers that are not on the page break Google's guidelines.
- Use absolute URLs for images, logos and links, starting with https://.
- Dates need a time zone to be unambiguous. The generator adds your current offset to date and time fields automatically.
- Images should be large: at least 1200 pixels wide for articles, in 16:9, 4:3 or 1:1 ratios.
- Combine types by adding several script blocks to one page, for example Organization on the home page together with WebSite, or Product together with BreadcrumbList.
Everything happens in your browser and drafts are stored locally, so you can prepare markup for several pages and come back to it later.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I put the JSON-LD code?
Paste the script tag anywhere in the HTML of the page it describes, usually in the head or just before the closing body tag. Most CMSs have a field for custom head code, and WordPress SEO plugins accept JSON-LD too. Use one block per page entity.
Does schema markup improve rankings?
Not directly. Structured data helps search engines understand the page and makes it eligible for rich results such as review stars, FAQ or event listings, which can raise click-through rates. Google decides when to show them.
Which fields are required?
Fields marked with a red asterisk are needed for the rich result Google offers for that type. Fields marked "recommended" are optional but improve your chances. The checklist under the form updates as you type.
Is FAQ and HowTo markup still useful?
Google now shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known government and health sites and has retired HowTo rich results, but both types are still valid schema.org markup that other search engines and AI assistants read to understand the page.
How do I test the markup?
Use the Google Rich Results Test to check eligibility for rich results and the Schema.org validator for general correctness. Both accept either a live URL or pasted code; buttons for both are under the output.
Is my data saved?
Your form entries are saved only in this browser, separately for each schema type, so you can come back later. Nothing is sent to a server. Use Clear form to remove a draft.
